So with all our important business taken care of, we took the long walk to our gate to wait for our 9:35 AM
flight to Seattle. I was pretty tired, and don't have any more pictures until...
...we were onboard and seated and ready to go a little after 9:00. A couple of hours into the flight, we
were served a better-than-average in-flight meal, then...
...the lights went out so we could all settle in for a long nap (or to do whatever we could do on a plane
on a long flight in the dark). I believe I watched a bunch of movies, but I can't remember any of their
titles. (I do remember the movies that were available were not very interesting, so whatever I watched, it
was just to pass the time.)
Later they brought us this (it was horrible), then, as we neared our destination,
this (also not very good, except, apparently, whatever
was in the empty cup was edible).
After about 10½ hours in the air, we arrived at the SeaTac Airport around 5:15 AM. Even though
our bags were checked all the way to MSP, we had to pick them up, go through customs, and recheck them.
It was a pretty easy process, and we soon found ourselves...
...at our gate, tired and anxious to get home. Our whole time in Taiwan was already beginning to feel
like a dream.
What's this? As it turned out, our flight out of SeaTac to MSP was delayed about 3½ hours, so we
needed to eat something, especially since we didn't eat much of the food served on the flight from Taipei.
McDonald's was nearby, and since I love their regular hamburgers, I got one, while Mei-O decided to buy a
very expensive Turkey and Swiss sandwich from a nearby
shop. Then, after we already spent a lot of money on the two sandwiches, it was announced that due to the
flight delay, we would each receive a $10 food voucher. Not wanting to let it go to waste, we bought
this and this to snack on.
Finally, around 11:30, we were onboard and soon off to MSP! With
me on the aisle and Mei-O on the window, at some point she took this
picture for me, the last picture from our trip on my camera. We landed at MSP, got a shuttle to the
off-site parking lot where we always park our car, and drove home safely, arriving home around 7:00PM,
still April 17th! What a great trip! | ||
